Abstract

The trial minutes are officially prepared by the authorized official (the Registrar) and contain the process of examining the case during the trial, serving as the basis for the Panel of Judges in making decisions on the cases they adjudicate. This research aims to determine the urgency of the trial minutes in relation to the judges' considerations in making decisions and to understand the legal consequences of incomplete trial minutes during the examination of cases in court. The type of research conducted by the researcher in this study is field or empirical research, which is a systematic study that collects data available in the field. Based on the research findings, the importance of the function of the trial minutes in the examination of cases in court is closely related to the accuracy, precision, and professionalism of the registrar or substitute registrar in recording the course of the trial, which is then compiled and arranged into trial minutes that hold authentic value. The urgency of the trial minutes includes several functions, such as serving as a basis for judges to draft decisions, a foundation for evaluating decisions at the appellate level, court documentation, a reference in case the decision is lost or damaged, and a source of information and knowledge."
