Abstract
The era of globalization in technological development has an impact on various sectors of human life. Technology gives birth to scientific knowledge and creates various innovative systems. One of them is Artificial Intelligence technology, where AI will continue to evolve, so that this evolution has given birth to the development of a new system, namely deepfake technology. The use of AI technology in the deepfake system has provided space for perpetrators of criminal acts. Deepfake uses a very practical and sophisticated AI system to change the structure of a person's face which is then attached to the body frame of another person for the personal satisfaction of the perpetrator or to take advantage of it by selling it, it can be in the form of photo or video formats and attacks various groups that exist, especially often attacking women. Women as the main object of the attack can be interpreted as online gender-based violence. The purpose and benefits of this study are to find out and examine positive law in Indonesia in providing legal protection and legal reform that can provide protection for existing problems and are expected to provide benefits from both theoretical and practical aspects. The type of research used in this study is normative juridical with a legislative and comparative approach. Various regulations that can be applied in legal protection are stated in the regulations: Criminal Code, ITE Law,
TPKS Law, and PDP Law, but this does not guarantee full legal
protection for women victims of online gender-based violence due to
the misuse of deepfake technology. Therefore, it is important to conduct an in-depth analysis regarding the regulation of legal protection for women victims of online gender-based violence due to
the misuse of deepfake technology that occurs in Indonesia.
