Abstract

Ramadaniyati, Hasta. 2024.The Influence of Differentiated Learning in the Project-Based Learning Model on Critical Thinking Skills in Solving Physics Problems of Senior High School Students at SMA Muhammadiyah Tarakan. Thesis of the Master of Pedagogy Program, Postgraduate Directorate, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This study aims to analyze the influence of differentiated learning in the project-based learning (PjBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in solving physics problems. The research was conducted on two groups of students: an experimental group that received differentiated learning and a control group that underwent conventional learning. The pretest results indicated that the initial abilities of students in both groups were relatively comparable, with an average pretest score of 59.29 for the experimental group and 54.46 for the control group. After the treatment, the posttest results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group, with an average score of 72.68, compared to 62.68 in the control group. The N-Gain analysis revealed that the experimental group achieved a score of 0.40 (moderate category), while the control group only reached 0.21 (low category). The greatest improvement in the experimental group was observed in the aspects of elementary clarification and basic support. A hypothesis test using the Independent Sample T-Test produced a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. These results suggest that differentiated learning within the project-based learning (PjBL) model is effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills.
