Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the guidance and counseling service model in helping students make decisions about further studies at university. With the implementation that has been carried out for class XII students in achieving development in the fields of information and career. This research uses a Mix Methods approach, namely Qualitative research method supported by simple quantitative data from data obtained from 20 respondents. Qualitative data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and analysis of primary and secondary data from students who had graduated in 2023 and 2024. The research sample was taken randomly using a random sampling technique of 10% of the total population, which was selected evenly from representatives of all major at school.
The results of research from interviews and observations which can answer the existing problem formulation, show that the guidance and counseling service model implemented at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Genteng has increased effectiveness and is in favor of students. This finding is also supported by simple quantitative data of 83%. From both qualitative and quantitative data, it is known that comprehensive collaboration in assisting students, especially class XII, has proven to be very effective and efficient in supporting them through the development period related to the decision to further study
