This study aims to analyze the implementation of pedagogical competence of Civic Education teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Nunukan within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach, this research involved two teachers as the subjects of the study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, which were then analyzed to gain an in-depth understanding of the pedagogical practices implemented by the teachers. The results of the study indicate that the teachers have applied various pedagogical strategies in line with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, including more interactive and participatory approaches in the learning process. In addition, this study also identified the challenges faced by the teachers in implementing pedagogical competence, such as limited resources and support from the school administration. This research is expected to contribute to the development of educational practices in Indonesia, particularly in improving the quality of Civic Education teaching. Therefore, the findings of this study are beneficial not only to teachers and students but also to policymakers in formulating more effective strategies to support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in schools. The author hopes that these findings can serve as a reference for future research and provide new insights in the field of education.
