Abstract

he study aims to determine the model of child identity formation in interfaith marriage families and look for the determination that influences the identity formation toward those families. This research uses a qualitative approach with the level of reality is micro subjective. The data collection technique is in-depth interviews and the respondent determination technique is purposive. The findings of this study shows that the families’ conflicts influenced by the religious level of those interfaith marriage families. The higher the religious level of a person in a family, the higher the potential for the conflicts appeared and vice versa. In addition, in interfaith marriage families that have had a child, there is double- paradigm socialization and dilemmas in decision-making or consensus developed in the families. Determination that affects the formation of social identity in the interfaith marriage is a domination in a family. The domination is the alternative of problem solving that arises in interfaith marriage. The problems that appear in interfaith marriage will gradually decrease when the children born from the interfaith marriage have grown up
