PENERAPAN TEKNIK RELAKSASI BENSON TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA TN. F DENGAN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIK (GGK) YANG MENJALANI HEMODIALISIS DI RUANG PANGANDARAN RSUD DR SAIFUL ANWAR MALANG

Background: Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) is a condition of gradual, progressive, and irreversible decline in kidney function, which causes the kidneys to no longer be able to remove waste products from the body and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance. Patients with CKF often experience anxiety caused by various factors, such as situational crises, threats of death, financial problems, difficulty maintaining employment, loss of sexual drive, impotence, and fear of death. In addition, patients can also experience stress due to pressure that is felt and perceived as anxiety. Anxiety can be overcome with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Among the many choices of relaxation techniques, Benson therapy is one of the most comfortable methods in overcoming anxiety.
Method: The research method uses a descriptive qualitative analysis technique in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) according to the Nursing Process rules that use data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, documentation, and using the STAI instrument. The data analysis used is the analysis domain with results that will include nursing problems, nursing interventions, and evaluation of results.
Results: Implementation of Benson relaxation technique to patients showed a decrease in the scale of anxiety felt. Therefore, Benson relaxation technique can be an alternative therapy that can be used to reduce anxiety in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) undergoing Hemodialysis.
Discussions: Benson relaxation technique has become one of the complementary approaches that guarantees in supporting treatment especially in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) with anxiety undergoing Hemodialysis. Benson relaxation technique can help reduce anxiety in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) with anxiety undergoing Hemodialysis.
