Abstract

ABSTRACT
Fatmawati, Isti. 2024. Analyze the literacy learning of students with disabilities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 5 Jombang. Thesis. Master of Pedagogy. University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Advisor (I) Assc. Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud Effendi, MM (II) Assc. Prof. Dr. Endang Poerwanti, M.Pd
The purpose of this research is to analyze the literacy learning of students with disabilities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 5 Jombang. The subjects of the study include inclusive education teachers. Inclusive education is defined as an educational service that allows students with disabilities to learn alongside regular students in a single school environment. Literacy learning encompasses a series of activities ranging from planning, implementation, to evaluation, integrating reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills using multimodal media such as visuals and sign language for 10 students with disabilities with specific needs like Down syndrome, physical disabilities, slow learners, and autism. The learning method used is "pull out," where students with disabilities learn in regular classes with other students, but at certain times they are brought to a resource class for intensive reading, writing, and arithmetic literacy education to prepare them for learning in regular classes. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, and documents, which are analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and research result evaluation. The research findings indicate that literacy learning for students with disabilities is carried out inclusively and adaptively, by modifying teaching materials, applying need-based learning strategies, and involving collaboration among teachers, parents, and other professionals.
