Abstract
This research aims to analyze the form and mechanism of legal protection for Indonesian Ship’s Crew (ABK) who are victims of Human Trafficking on Chinese- flagged ships, especially in the case that occurred on the Long Xing 629 ship. This study uses a normative legal approach with primary and secondary legal sources, and refers to Philipus M. Hadjon's legal protection theory. The main focus of this study is on the state's legal responsibility in providing protection for ABK through preventive and repressive instruments, and assesses the role of international regulations such as the ILO Convention and the Maritime Labor Convention in supporting this protection. The results of the study indicate that cases of human rights violations experienced by Indonesian ABK on foreign ships require more optimal law enforcement, including the proactive role of the Indonesian government in supervising and enforcing sanctions against recruiting companies. In addition, the importance of cross-border cooperation and increasing access to justice for victims are also key findings in this study. With the implementation of more integrated legal protection, it is hoped that the rights of Indonesian migrant workers can be better protected in the future.
