Abstract

The purpose of education in senior high school (SMA) is to prepare students to continue their education to the next level. However, there are several schools where most of the students do not continue their education, therefore it is necessary to provide skills. The Double Track Program is one of the flagship programs of the East Java Provincial Education Office in collaboration with the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology by providing additional skills for students at the high school level who plan not to continue to college. This study aims to determine the relevance of the Double Track program to the high school curriculum. The relevance referred to here is the internal relevance related to the Double Track program policy itself and the external relevance related to developments in society related to the demands of the business world and the industrial world today. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out using document study techniques, interviews, observations and questionnaires. The results showed that from a total of 11 indicators of relevance there are 8 indicators that have met the Double Track program policy with a percentage of 73% and 3 other indicators have not met with a percentage of 17%. This study concludes that the Double Track program is relevant to the high school curriculum both from internal and external relevance but still needs some improvements and refinements mainly related to program adjustments with local wisdom, infrastructure improvements, continuous monitoring and evaluation and wider socialization.
