Abstract
This study aims to describe the ability of relational thinking in mathematics learning using android-based mathematics media reviewed from students' self-efficacy. This type of research is experimental teaching with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were 30 students of class IX-F of SMP Negeri 9 Malang. The subjects were grouped based on self-efficacy categories based on high, medium, or low to analyze the ability of relational thinking according to its indicators in learning. The study was conducted for 4 meetings with the first meeting introducing android-based media and measuring students' self-efficacy. In the second and third meetings, learning activities were carried out based on problems that focused on completing the Student Worksheets (LKPD) provided and the use of android-based media. In the fourth meeting, interviews were conducted with students who had high, medium, or low self-efficacy abilities to determine their relational thinking abilities based on the results of completing the LKPD. The results showed that students with high self-efficacy were better able to identify relevant information, connect mathematical concepts, and develop problem-solving strategies systematically. In contrast, students with moderate self-efficacy showed a gradual increase in each indicator of relational thinking. The application of android-based learning media supports students' exploration of mathematical concepts through interactive simulations, strengthening their validation and understanding of problem solving. This study combines a problem-based approach and android-based media in improving students' relational thinking processes. Self-efficacy also plays a role in influencing students' ability to overcome learning challenges, so teachers are advised to integrate technology and learning strategies that support strengthening students' self-efficacy.
