Abstract
Previous research found that students' reading habits did not develop due to a lack of guidance at earlier educational levels. This was due to the assumption that reading was a boring and difficult activity. This research aims to find out: 1) the implementation of the reading camp method to improve literacy skills in elementary schools Dolulolong 2) the impact of the reading camp method to improve literacy skills and 3) obstacles and solutions to implementing the reading camp method to improve literacy skills
The research results show that there are several ways and strategies used in implementing the reading camp method in schools to increase students' literacy. The method used is implementing a literacy support program through group reading activities, picture descriptions and answering reading texts for reading habits for 15 minutes and reading camps. It is important to carry out this activity repeatedly as a form of increasing literacy so that students' abilities become better. With several activities carried out, it can improve the literacy of class 2 students at SDN Dolulolong. his research method uses a qualitative descriptive research type. This research was conducted at SDN Dolulolong with the research subjects being class 2 students consisting of 16 students with 8 male students and 8 female students. To obtain data, observation techniques, interviews and documentation are needed. This research uses four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data uses two techniques, namely source triangulation and technical triangulation.
