Abstract
Female students have a developmental phase adolescence to early adulthood. This change can be seen from psychological, emotional, physical and social aspects. In this phase of development, individuals experience a transition from adolescence to adulthood, starting to search for self-identity, transitioning from dependence to independence, according to a psychologist, early adult development includes a period of transition both physically, cognitively and socially. However, there are changes in psychological aspects that occur in individuals, namely self-esteem which can change to low or high, this is influenced by environmental factors, personal experiences or self-assessment. Individuals who receive bad environmental treatment will cause their self-esteem to change up or down, as is the case with victims of catcalling experienced by female students. This research aims to determine the effect of catcalling on self-esteem in female students. The subjects 157 at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang who experienced victims of catcalling in the last 1 year. This research uses a quantitative approach. The analytical methods used validity, reliability, normality, linearity and simple linear regression tests to determine the effect of catcalling on self-esteem. The scales used in this research are the Street Harassment Scale (SHS) and the Self-Esteem Scale. The results of this research show that the significance value is 0.798 > 0.05, so Ha is rejected. This means that there is no influence of the catcalling variable on the self-esteem variable which can be seen from the probability results which are not significant.
