Abstract

Background: Based on WHO and Riskesdas data in 2020, the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia was found to be increasing, with schizophrenia and depression being the main problems among adolescents and young adults. Social isolation, which can worsen patients' mental health, is the main focus of this study. Through the application of a Nursing Action Implementation Strategy (NAPS) focusing on Jean Watson's theory of caring, interventions were made to foster trusting relationships, improve social skills, and provide emotional support to patients with mental disorders.
Research Methods: This research uses a case study approach that aims to explore and analyze social rehabilitation for people with mental disorders, especially those experiencing social isolation. Data in the study were collected through interviews and observations during the intervention at Bina Laras Pasuruan Social Rehabilitation Unit.
Results: The results showed that the application of nursing interventions based on caring theory can help patients overcome the problem of social isolation, increase interaction skills, and improve their quality of life. These findings confirm the importance of a holistic approach in mental health care to ensure patient well-being and recovery.
Conclusion: After the nursing intervention, the nursing problem of social isolation in Mrs.R can be resolved by using Jean Watson's theoretical approach in caring behavior.
