Abstract
This research aims to analyze students' mathematical communication abilities in solving AKMI numerical literacy problems, as viewed from their mathematical skills. This qualitative descriptive study involves 15 fifth-grade students at MIS AS SUNNAH Kediri. A mathematics ability test was used to classify students into high, medium, and low groups, from which 2 students were selected from each group as research subjects. Subsequently, these 6 students were given AKMI numerical literacy tests and interviews to assess their mathematical communication abilities. The results show that there are 4 categories of communication abilities: (1) Low-ability students with moderate written mathematical communication scores of 44.44 and 61.11; (2) Medium-ability students with moderate written mathematical communication scores of 61.11; (3) Medium-ability students with high written mathematical communication scores of 83.33; (4) High-ability students with high written mathematical communication scores of 88.88 and 100.
