Abstract

This research aims to produce learning e-modules based on culture both in terms of material content and presentation. On this occasion, an e-module based on ethnomathematics of betang house was developed to improve students' mathematical representation skills. The e-module can be used as an alternative learning resource that is practical and contextual because it can be used anywhere and the material is in accordance with the students' cultural environment. This research is a development research, adapting the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate). Based on the assessment of material experts and media experts as well as the trials that have been carried out, the ethnomathematics based e-module betang house is “very feasible” suitable for use in learning to improve students mathematical representation skills. The practicality test was carried out in a small group, where the e-module developed was categorized as “practical”. While the effectiveness test was carried out on a large group which was measured based on the results of the pretest and postest given to students, the n-gain test results showed that the e-module developed was “quite effective” to improve students mathematical representation skills.
