PENGARUH SELF-COMPASSION DAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TERHADAP KESEPIAN MAHASISWA RANTAU TAHUN PERTAMA

When entering the early stages of college, migrant students are generally faced with changes in various aspects of life. If they have difficulty adapting, it can make them feel lonely. In order to avoid loneliness, migrant students need to treat themselves positively when faced with a problem and migrant students need to get support from their social environment. This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion and social support on loneliness in first-year migrant students. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique, and the sample is 386 migrant students from outside Java. The measuring instruments used are The Self Compassion Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Emotional-Social Loneliness Inventory (ESLI). Data analysis using multiple linear regression tests with the results of the study showing that there is a significant negative effect of self-compassion and social support on loneliness in first-year migrant students from outside Java. The coefficient of determination value of 0.385 means that self-compassion and social support simultaneously have an influence of 38.5% on loneliness.
