Abstract

This study aims to analyze how Sri Lanka's efforts in dealing with the ecological damage to its territory due to seawater pollution by the sinking of the MV X-Press Pearl, using the International Environmental Regime. With this approach, this thesis or study can link local and international efforts made by Sri Lanka in the context of restoring the maritime environment due to ecological damage from the MV X-Press Pearl incident. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative research design, namely by collecting data through literature studies through books, journals, reports and other official sources that assist this study. The results of this study can be seen from the efforts that have been made by Sri Lanka, indicating Sri Lanka's compliance with international agreements on the prevention of marine pollution. In addition, this study helps indicate that the international environmental regime helps Sri Lanka in receiving assistance both technically and in the form of finance and coordinating the global response to the impacts of environmental pollution.
