Abstract
This study aims to explore the effectiveness of reality therapy using the WDEP
framework (Wants, Doing, Evaluation, Planning) to increase disease acceptance in
chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Chronic kidney failure is a
condition that presents significant physical and psychological challenges, and many
patients struggle to accept their diagnosis. The study involved three subjects who
showed low levels of disease acceptance, with a series of reality therapy sessions
designed to help them psychologically adapt to their condition. The results indicate
that reality therapy significantly improved patients’ acceptance of their disease,
reducing denial, anger, and bargaining tendencies, while helping them manage
depressive symptoms and move toward acceptance. The study concludes that reality
therapy is a promising intervention to enhance the emotional well-being of chronic
kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis, allowing them to develop better
coping strategies in dealing with their
