Abstract

People who visit Lombang Beach for tourism mostly do not pay attention to the sustainability of the ecosystem, causing environmental pressure on the coastal ecosystem which causes a decline in habitat and macrofauna in the area. The purpose of this study is to find the types of macrofauna in the intertidal zone and describe the diversity of macrofauna in the intertidal zone in Lombang Beach, Sumenep Regency as a source of learning Biology. The research method uses belt transect which is carried out at three stations. The results of this study found 6 types of macrofauna (Dardanus calidus, Ovalipes sp., Tivela stultorum, Perna viridis, Volvarina sp., Semiricinula tissoti), which belong to 6 genera (Dardanus, Ovalipes, Tivela, Perna, Volvarina, and Semiricinula); 6 Families (Diogenidae, Ovalipidae, Veneridae, Mitilidae, Marginellidae, and Muricidae); 4 Orders (Decapoda, Venerida, Mytilida, and Neogastropoda); and 3 Classes (Malacostraca, Bivalvia, and Gastropoda). The Shannon Wienner Diversity Index (H) was 0.92 with a low category, the macrofauna species evenness index was 0.13-0.81 with a low-medium category, which indicates an uneven distribution of species, and there are dominating species. The results of the measurement of seawater temperature were 30.4C-30.7C, seawater salinity 30 ppm-31 ppm, seawater pH 8.0, dissolved oxygen (DO) 4.5 mg/l-6.0 mg/l. The results of this study can be used as a biology learning resource that is adjusted to the biology learning outcomes of high school class X in phase E.
