Abstract

Employees must be ready to face changes to develop themselves for the better in order to survive in the world of work competition. Transformational leadership is able to manage organizational change because it has the capacity to help its employees understand how to cope with change. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of transformational leadership style on readiness to change in civil servants. The sample in this study were 327 respondents from all government employees of Penajam Paser Utara Regency. The sampling method in this study used stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instruments used are the Readiness for Change scale with 29 valid items with a reliability coefficient value of 0.846 and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire scale containing 20 valid items with a reliability value of 0.864 so that it is reliable to use. The results of simple linear regression analysis show that there is a significant influence between transformational leadership style on readiness to change in civil servants in Penajam Paser Utara related to the transfer of IKN, this is indicated by a Sig value of 0.00; <0.05. Based on the coefficient test results, it is found that the transformational leadership style has an influence on readiness to change with a value of (β = 0.456). The coefficient of determination or R Square is 46%. The remaining 54% is influenced by other variables not examined by researchers in this study. Furthermore, the t value in this study is 9.357 which means that this study has a significant positive effect.
