IMPLEMENTASI KERJA SAMA KOTA SURAKARTA DENGAN UNITED STATES AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (USAID) DALAM PROGRAM USAID IUWASH TANGGUH

USAID IUWASH Tangguh is a collaborative program between the Government of Indonesia and USAID to accelerate the achievement of Indonesia's development goals in improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation and achieving hygiene behavior (WASH) targets. The program is implemented in 38 cities/districts nationwide, one of which is Surakarta City, which was selected as USAID's partner in implementing the USAID IUWASH Tangguh program because Surakarta City still faces critical water and sanitation problems, such as problems related to limited clean water sources, sanitation facilities, and urbanization. Therefore, this study aims to determine the implementation process of Surakarta City's cooperation with USAID in USAID IUWASH Tangguh program in an effort to improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation in Surakarta City. The conceptual basis used is the intermestic approach and the concept of paradiplomacy to see the process of program implementation in Surakarta City with descriptive analytical writing method through various reference sources through interviews and literature studies. This research shows that the cooperation between Surakarta City and USAID in the USAID IUWASH Tangguh program is a form of paradiplomacy practice in Indonesia or international cooperation between local governments and foreign institutions (KSDLL), where the implementation of the IUWASH Tangguh program in Surakarta City shows an increase in access to clean drinking water and safe sanitation, The implementation of the USAID IUWASH Tangguh Program also supports the Indonesian and local governments to achieve the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a global preference model, and provides support in the form of technical assistance and assistance to establish corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships in Surakarta City.
