Abstract

Adolescent marriage is often faced with challenges in building family harmony. One of the influencing factors is emotional maturity. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional maturity on family harmony in married adolescents. This study uses a type of correlation quantitative research, with the number of respondents as many as 91 adolescents who have been married, data collection using a questionnaire consisting of two scales, namely the emotional maturity scale and the family harmony scale. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 application to analyze a simple linear regression test. The results were known to be 0.001 < 0.05 and the value of F=39.501, p < 0.05. The variance that can be explained by emotional maturity is 29.2% (R2 = 0.292). So it can be concluded that the hypothesis is acceptable, which means that there is an influence of emotional maturity on family harmony. This means that there is a significant influence between emotional maturity and family harmony. Adolescents who have good emotional maturity tend to have more harmonious and satisfying relationships, and are more effective at communicating and resolving conflicts. The implication of this study is that it is expected to provide benefits in the field of family psychology. It can provide learning to teenagers who want to get married that it is necessary to have mature emotions before marriage because it is important to ensure harmony in the family. In addition, it is hoped that this research can be a reference for further research in more depth.
