Abstract
The batik industry in Mojokerto City has faced various challenges hindering its development and progress, such as limited production capacity, inconsistent product quality, restricted market access, minimal capital and facility support, as well as weak business networks and collaborations. To address these issues, the Mojokerto City Government, through the Department of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry, and Trade (DISKOPUKMPERINDAG), took the initiative to build the Batik IKM Center Building. This development aims to empower batik artisans by providing adequate facilities, introducing Mojokerto Batik to a broader audience, and enhancing production capacity, product quality, and market access. This study aims to explore how the empowerment process is being carried out by the Mojokerto City Government to address these challenges. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects are the administrators/staff of the Batik IKM Center. Data collection is conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses an interactive qualitative model. The results show an improvement in the batik artisans' skills in batik-making (motifs, colors) and product marketing.
