Abstract
Background: Coronary Artery Disease is a condition in which fat deposits causethe coronary arteries and blood vessels to become blocked. When fat accumulates, the arteries narrow, reducing blood flow to the heart. This reduction in blood flow can cause symptoms of coronary heart disease, with cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels and inflammation thought to be the triggers for this condition. ACE Inhibitors have a dual role, both in preventing and treating cardiovascular disease. ACE inhibitors have an indirect effect in the primary prevention of hypertension, reducing left ventricular hypertrophy and anti-remodelling. ACE inhibitors also indirectly protect blood vessels through their antihypertensive effects and indirectly prevent carotid atherogenesis and thrombogenesis.
Objective: To find out the pattern of ACE Inhibitor use in the therapy of coronary heart disease patients, including type, dose, route, frequency, and duration of use at RSI Aisyiyah Malang.
Method: The research conducted was observational or non-experimental with qualitative methods. The research was compiled based on retrospective data collection.
Results and Conclusion: Single use pattern in 16 patients (17%), Two Combination in 37 patients (40%), Three Combination in 36 patients (38%), Four Combination in 5 patients (5%). The most common Single Therapy is Ramipril (1x5mg) po in 4 patients, The most common Two Combination is the ACEI + ß-Blocker in 18 patients, The most common Three Combination is ACEI + Potassium-Sparing Diuretics + Loop Diuretics in 15 patients, The most common Four Combination is the ACEI + ß-Blocker + Potassium-Sparing Diuretics + Loop Diuretics and ACEI + CCB + Potassium-Sparing Diuretics + Loop Diuretics in each 2 patients and obtained 47 Switch patterns.
