PELAKSANAAN PENYIDIKAN TERHADAP TINDAK PIDANA KECELAKAAN LALU LINTAS YANG MENYEBABKAN ORANG LAIN MENINGGAL DUNIA (STUDI DI POLRESTA MALANG KOTA)

Investigation is a series of investigative actions to search for and collect evidence with this evidence to shed light on a criminal act and to determine the suspect. In the practice of investigating criminal traffic accidents that cause other people to die, there are actions that are not carried out by investigators, namely detention. This action was carried out based on the investigator's own judgment. Based on this, the author is interested in conducting research on a series of investigator actions in traffic accident crimes that cause other people to die. This research aims to determine a series of investigators' actions in criminal traffic accidents that cause other people to die. This research is included in research sociological juridical, to obtain the data needed, researchers directly conducted field research using data collection methods in the form of interviews with traffic accident investigators from the Malang City Police. The results of this research showed that the investigator's authority was not implemented, namely detention, this was shown from the results of the researcher's interviews with sources in the form of investigators not carrying out detention because they had their own judgment, such as the suspect's cooperation. So the author concludes that this decision caused a loss of public trust in the police.
