Abstract
Diplomatic normalization between the United Arab Emirates and Israel in 2020, also known as the Abraham Accords, is a long-term plan to diversify economic income and alliances so that the economy is no longer dependent on the oil sector and further expands alliances so that they do not depend on Arab countries alone. Apart from that, it is aimed at strengthening the security, position and influence of the United Arab Emirates in regional and international areas. This research aims to analyze the factors that drive the foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates in agreeing to the normalization of the Abraham Accords in 2020 using the Adaptive Foreign Policy Model Theory and through an International Security approach to examine the interests of the United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, the interests of the United Arab Emirates will be determined by driving factors which will be analyzed using the Adaptive Foreign Policy Model Theory which is divided into 2 determinants, namely internal and external factors. This research data was collected through literature study and explained explanatoryly. The results of this research show that the United Arab Emirates agreed to diplomatic normalization for reasons reflected in internal and external factors.
