Abstract

Drainage problems have a significant impact on increasing the frequency of flooding and waterlogging. Drainage problems are a problem that requires serious handling. Jalan Cengger Ayam, which is 710.67 meters long and is included in the secondary local road network which is a connecting road between the center of the environment and the surrounding settlements and is the main road in the area. On the road there has been a flood caused by overflow from the drainage channel. The overflow occurred because the drainage channel was unable to accommodate the high water discharge due to the rain that occurred. The flood disrupted community activities on Jalan Cengger Ayam, Malang City.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate flood discharge based on 2-year design rainfall, measure the discharge of dirty water entering the drainage channel, assess the capacity of the existing drainage channel, and design a budget for planning a new drainage channel on Jalan Cengger Ayam, Malang City. Rainwater discharge can be calculated by analyzing the dimensions of the channel based on the amount of rainwater discharge that will be channeled using the rational method. This method can describe the relationship between runoff discharge and rainfall for a watershed area of up to 300 ha.
The results showed that (1) The maximum rainfall with a 2-year return period in the study area was 97.72 mm and the design flood discharge was 0.023 m3/s. (2) Some existing channels cannot accommodate the existing design flood discharge. The channels in question include: SS. CAD KI 3, SS - SP. CAD - CA KA 5 and SP. CA KA 1. (3) There are channels that are unable to accommodate the design flood discharge and need to be re-planned in the SS. CAD KI 3, SS - SP. CAD - CA KA 5 and SP. CA KA 1 SP. (4) The cost required to evaluate the drainage system of Jalan Cengger Ayam is Rp. 121,865,177.3.
