Abstract
The crime of sexual abuse against children is a crime that violates morals, morals and religion. The impact of this criminal act on children is that it causes physical and psychological trauma to the victim which can affect the victim's personal development when they grow up. The level of child abuse is increasing from year to year, especially in the jurisdiction of the Riau Regional Police. The Riau Regional Police are the party that has the obligation to provide protection to child victims of sexual violence. So this is the background for this research to be carried out at the Riau Regional Police with the problem formulation: How is legal protection for cases of child victims of sexual abuse at the Riau Regional Police? How effective is legal protection in cases of child victims of sexual abuse at the Riau Regional Police. The approach method used in preparing this legal writing is a sociological juridical approach with the data analysis method in this research being Descriptive Analytical. The types of data used in writing this law are primary and secondary data. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is stated that the Riau Regional Police in providing legal protection for child victims of sexual abuse has complied with the provisions of Law no. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection in terms of providing legal aid, assistance, rehabilitation. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of legal protection for child victims of sexual abuse at the Riau Regional Police is related to law enforcement factors, facilities and infrastructure factors, community factors and cultural factors.
