Abstract
In 2021, the Indonesian people encouraged interest in investing in stocks due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, due to the economic uncertainty of the community, from the data, many people invested which increased significantly to 6.43 million new investors in September 2021. However, this spike also opens up opportunities for investment fraud, especially through Ponzi schemes and illegal trading robots. Data from the East Java Regional Police recorded 14 cases of investment fraud under the guise of trading robots between 2021 and 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the law enforcement efforts against stock investment fraud under the guise of trading robots in the jurisdiction of the East Java Regional Police. The method of approach used is the sociological legal approach method, namely an approach in which secondary data is studied first and then primary data research is carried out in the field. This study concluded that the East Java Regional Police can enforce the law against stock investment fraud under the guise of trading robots with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, namely Investigation and Investigation, then in enforcing the law against stock investment fraud under the guise of trading robots, the East Java Regional Police experienced several obstacles, the inhibiting factors are 1. The law itself (UU), 2. Law enforcers, 3. Society, 4. Facilities and infrastructure. In the case of stock investment fraud under the guise of trading robots carried out by the perpetrators, it has clearly fulfilled the subjective and objective elements of Article 378 of the Criminal Code. In an effort to enforce the criminal act of stock investment fraud under the guise of trading robots in the jurisdiction of the East Java Regional Police, the police, especially the East Java Regional Police, are making law enforcement efforts both through preventive and repressive efforts. It is hoped that the East Java Regional Police with various related agencies can work together and be more active in conducting socialization regarding the importance of financial literacy to protect the public from illegal stock investment fraud.
