Abstract
The Malang Regency Communication and Informatics Service (DISKOMINFO)
provides public information and public complaints services. However, the results
of initial observations using a Likert scale show that the appearance and features of
their website are still sloppy, less informative, and do not meet user needs well, thus
affecting user comfort and satisfaction. This research aims to overcome the problem
of the Malang Regency DISKOMINFO website's user interface being less
informative by applying the Design Thinking method for redesign and
implementing the prototype in HTML and CSS form. This research uses the design
thinking method, which connects researchers with the research object, namely
DISKOMINFO Malang Regency, to identify opportunities and new ideas in
redesigning website user interfaces. This method has structured stages, including
empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, and focuses on a user-based approach
to provide solutions to problems found. After analyzing the solution using the How
Might We (HMW) method, the user interface was redesigned in the form of an
interactive High Fidelity prototype design. The prototype was tested through A/B
testing verification and heuristic evaluation validation with positive results. This
prototype has been successfully implemented into HTML and CSS, significantly
improving the appearance and functionality of the website, and received a positive
response from Diskominfo. This implementation shows readiness to be applied on
a wider production scale.
