Abstract
This research is motivated by the agricultural sector which is one of the promising businesses. One of the agricultural sub-sectors that has high opportunities is potato farming. And in terms of market potential, potato consumption by the public also tends to grow every year. This study aims to find out how the profile of a potato farmer in Sedaeng Village and to find out how the feasibility of a potato farmer business in Sedaeng Village, Tosari District. Pasuruan Regency.
This research uses a type of field research (Field Research) which is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of the study said that the average net income of potato farmers as owners amounted to Rp. 252,416,429 per season with an average cultivated land area of 3 hectares. Furthermore, the income of potato farmers as paron cultivators averages Rp. 84,810,000 per season with an average cultivated land of 1.6 hectares and finally the income of potato farmers as telon cultivators averages Rp. 34,937,750 per season with an average cultivated land of 1 hectare. The results of the R/C Ratio analysis also prove that this potato farming business based on each business characteristic has a value of more than 1, meaning it is very profitable and feasible to run. The results of research through interviews costs incurred in potato management mostly cannot be controlled with certainty due to the lack of detailed recording of the administration of both seed costs, fertilizer, labor and crop yields. Known external factors are the government as evidenced by the distribution of fertilizers that are not on target, the absence of facilities that make potato crops have added value such as the potato harvest processing industry, and capital providers are easily accessible to potato farmers.
