Abstract

This research aims to design a Virtual Reality (VR) based batik museum virtual space using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method to preserve batik culture as an Indonesian cultural heritage. The methods used include literature study for reference search and GDLC for virtual space development. Beta testing results show that the batik museum virtual space obtained an average percentage of 86.1%, with the highest score of 93.9% for the visual appeal aspect. Functional testing using blackbox testing demonstrated that all functions in the virtual space ran without failure. Feasibility testing resulted in a "Very Excellent" rating with an average of 86.1%. In conclusion, the design of the batik museum virtual space using the GDLC method successfully created an easily understood environment that can increase public interest in batik culture. This research proves the effectiveness of using VR technology in preserving and promoting Indonesian cultural heritage.
