PERAN KELOMPOK DUKUNGAN SEBAYA (KDS) DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI ORANG DENGAN HIV/AIDS (ODHA) YANG MENGALAMI LOST OF HOPE (Studi di Kelompok Dukungan Sebaya Netral Plus Malang)

This research aims to determine the causes and effects of lost of hope situations as well as the motivational strategies of Peer Support Group for People Life With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who experience lost of hope. This research use a qualitative methods to the type of case study research. To get the subject of researchs done by purposively, while the data collection techniques used observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this research used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing consclusions. The data validity test used by researchers is the credibility test.The result of the research show that (1) The lost of hope situation experienced by People Life With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is caused by six factors, including stigma and discrimination, loss of social support, decreased physical condition, economic problems, lack of literacy, and experience seeing the poor condition of People Life With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The lost of hope situation has an impact, namely, decreasing the motivation of PLWHA to live and undergoing anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment, suicidal thoughts, and worse, it has an impact of death. Meanwhile, the Peer Support Group motivation strategy for PLWHA who experience lost of hope, namely by mentoring, counseling, and health literacy.
