Abstract

The lack of understanding of students about the concept of Linear Equations Two Variables (SPLDV) makes mathematical connections and critical thinking in students also disrupted. The lack of use of modules in learning makes one of the factors for the lack of understanding of students. This study aims to improve mathematical connections and critical thinking in students through AKM-based learning modules. This research is a development research using the Research and Development (RND) method and using the stages of the ADDIE model, namely: analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating. The result of this research is an effective, practical and valid AKM-based mathematics learning module that is useful for improving students' mathematical connections and critical thinking. The subjects in this study were 30 students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Tempursari. The instruments of this study used validation sheets of pretest and post-test sheets and student response questionnaires. From the results of N-Gain, the results obtained with high criteria 10 students, medium 20 students, and low 0 students. The practicality of the module is seen from the analysis of student responses and the results obtained with low criteria 33.71%, moderate 42.86%, high 14.29%, very high 7.14%.
