Abstract
This research project aims to examine the role of BTS as a non-state actor in the bilateral relationship between South Korea and the United States. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach to examine how BTS, a K-pop music group with global influence, functions as a diplomatic actor in the process of strengthening relations between the two countries. This study employs the concept of soft diplomacy as an analytical framework. The term "soft diplomacy" is used to describe the utilisation of cultural, informational and interpersonal exchanges as a means of achieving political objectives. BTS's global popularity has enabled the group to cultivate a favorable image of South Korea among the international community, including the United States. BTS's activities, including humanitarian campaigns, student exchange programs, and cultural exchanges, have contributed to the strengthening of relations between the two countries. The results demonstrate that BTS has been an effective cultural ambassador for South Korea. Through their music and influence on social media, BTS has been able to bridge cultural differences and create a sense of global solidarity. BTS's involvement in various public diplomacy activities has shown that soft power can be an effective tool in building stronger and more sustainable international relations.
