Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of applying vegetable pesticides (clove leaves, noni leaves, papaya leaves, kitolot leaves) and Sapporo insecticides on armyworm pest attacks and sweet corn crop yields. Botanical pesticides are single or compound active ingredients derived from plants (leaves, fruit, seeds or roots) which function to control pests and diseases in plants, but are environmentally friendly and relatively safe from a health perspective. The corn armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is an invasive insect that has become a pest of sweet corn plants (zea mays saccharata sturt). This pest attacks the formation of the plant's young leaf shoots. This research used a qualitative method with a randomized block design (RAK), with a total of 7 treatments in the research, with 3 replications. The treatments used in this study were as follows: P0: Control, (without treatment) P1: Clove leaves 50 ml/liter, P2: Papaya leaves 50 ml/liter, P3: Kotolod leaves 50 ml/liter, P4: Noni leaves 50 ml /liter, P5: Mixture of the four pesticides each 50ml/liter, P6: Positive Control (insecticide). Based on the results of the research above, the application of vegetable pesticides (clove leaves, noni, papaya, kitolot leaves) and Sapporo insecticide against armyworm pest attacks and sweet corn yields gave the most significant results in the P6 treatment and had no significant effect. significant in treatment P0.
