Abstract

Entikong District is located in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province, directly bordering Malaysia. Geographically, Entikong is part of the administrative area of Sanggau Regency and is adjacent to Landak Regency. Access to several villages in the border area remains challenging. The development of border areas is one of the commitments and policies outlined in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2005-2025. Development policies are implemented evenly to ensure that the community experiences justice and welfare from government movements. Border development efforts cannot focus solely on physical development; infrastructure development must be accompanied by regulations and supporting facilities. In the era of Jokowi's administration in 2015, the paradigm of border development changed, viewing border areas no longer as the country's backyard. The urgent establishment of the International Goods Terminal (TBI) aims to eliminate the need for exports and imports to go through Jakarta or Pontianak, allowing direct transactions from Malaysia to the International Goods Terminal in Entikong. This research aims to understand the processes undertaken by the West Kalimantan provincial government to enhance export and import activities through the International Goods Terminal at the Entikong border, making it easier to ship goods. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research method. This method is used to describe a phenomenon, allowing it to be studied regarding the influence of the International Goods Terminal system in Entikong. Through TBI Entikong, the economic and social choices for the people in the Entikong border area can expand. The TBI will provide greater opportunities for the community to have regulations that support cross-border trade activities. The development of the International Goods Terminal in Entikong will facilitate export and import activities for the people of Entikong.
