Abstract

In the field of 21st century education, cultivating scientific literacy and 4C skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity) is very important for student success. Teachers play an important role in designing lesson plans that consider student attributes, available resources, and specific science topics to effectively foster these skills in students. Based on initial observations at MAN 1 West Lampung, biology learning activities require the latest innovations in their implementation so that they have an impact on students' scientific literacy abilities and 4C skills.
The design of this research is Pretest Posttest Control Group Design which is a type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach. The collection technique consists of a 25-question multiple choice test to measure scientific literacy and an observation sheet for 4C skills. The population in this study were all students in class XI IPA MAN 1 West Lampung. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. This research used 3 classes, namely XI IPA1 as the experimental class, XI IPA2 as the positive control class, and XI IPA3 as the negative control class.
Based on the results of data analysis on the scientific literacy ability of the experimental class, the n-gain value was 78%, the positive control class was 68%, and the negative control class was 38%. Apart from that, the results of data analysis using the One Sample T Test showed the probability of class scientific literacy. experiment, positive control and negative control are 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of learning cycle 9e on the scientific literacy abilities of students at MAN 1 West Lampung. The output results of the One Sample T Test on the 4C skills observation sheet in the experimental class, positive control class, and negative control class are 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of learning cycle 9e on the 4C skills of students at MAN 1 Lampung West.
