Abstract
The waste problem has received serious attention from various parties, so that it has placed it as one of the main issues for city governments throughout Indonesia. One area that is not spared from experiencing waste problems is Blitar City. Blitar City is a city located in East Java. The Blitar City Government admits that waste is still a frightening specter. Poor public awareness of waste management issues has made it increasingly difficult for the government to manage waste. This is evidenced by the fact that there are still many traders who throw garbage after selling. It's even mentioned that they don't care about the existence of trash. With the emergence of various problems with the environment and urban planning, the government issued the Regional Regulation of the City of Blitar Number 4 of 2017 concerning Waste Management. However, the current condition of landfills in Blitar City has increased significantly from year to year in line with the increasing population in Blitar City. The research method used by researchers is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observation and documentation related to the evaluation of Waste Management policies in the City of Blitar. The purpose of this study is to describe how the evaluation of waste management policies in the City of Blitar. The results of this study are that the policies that have been made by the Blitar City Government have been running but have not been maximized. The policy that has not been made is due to the parties concerned and also the people who are less aware of waste management and the harmful effects of waste. The lack of dissemination of information from the government also causes people to still commit violations. Apart from that, the current problems are also present at the landfill itself due to the small size of the Ngegong landfill which only has an area of 5,095 hectares, while the population is increasing from year to year, which is followed by increasing piles of waste. The policy also has not run optimally due to the lack of enforcement of regional regulation violators.
