Abstract

Emerging adulthood is a transition phase from adolescence to adulthood so there are many challenges that must be faced. An important thing that all individuals, especially emerging adulthood, must have is psychological well-being. In achieving good psychological well-being, a good level of optimism and self-regulated learning is very necessary. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of optimism and self-regulated learning on psychological well-being in emerging adulthood. This research uses multiple linear regression analysis using the Personal Optimism and Social Optimism —Extended (Poso-E), Self-Regulation Scale (SRQ) and Psychological Well-Being Scale. Participants in this study were emerging adulthood individuals with an age range of 18-25 years with a total of 308 participants including 234 women and 74 men. The sampling technique in this research is accidental sampling. The results of this study show that 52.1% of emerging adulthood's psychological well-being is influenced by the level of optimism and self-regulated learning. This means that the higher a person's optimism and self-regulated learning, the higher the psychological well-being of emerging adulthood, and vice versa.
