Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of material learning outcomes around and the area of flat building through discovery learning models. This research is a classroom action research with a qualitative approach. This research uses classroom action research design from Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. The subjects of this study were 29 students of class IV-A SDN Ngaglik 01 Kota Batu. Data from this study are documentary data, observational data on student activities and teacher activities as well as data on student learning outcomes. This study shows that discovery learning learning models improve student learning outcomes with the percentage in cycle 1 of 65.5% and in cycle 2 it increases to 82.7% from cycle 1 to cycle 2 increases by 17.2%. Increases also occur in the activities of students and teacher activities. Activities of students from cycle 1 to cycle 2 increased by 20.9%, while teacher activity increased by 17.5%.
