PERAN KOREA CORNER UNIVERSITAS NASIONAL SEBAGAI DIPLOMASI KEBUDAYAAN KOREA SELATAN DI INDONESIA

Cultural diplomacy is an activity that is quite lively in the current contemporary era. One of the actors of cultural diplomacy that is quite popular today is South Korea. Cultural diplomacy does not only involve the state but non-state actors. The purpose of this article is to answer the role of the National University's Korea Corner as a Media for South Korean Cultural Diplomacy in Indonesia. The data collection method for this research uses two methods, namely Library Research using the Harzing, Published or Perished Application and Interviews with the Korea Corner of the National University. Interviews were conducted with the Supervisor of the National University's Korea Corner and the Chief of Staff of the National University's Korea Corner. Data analysis is inductive by using cultural diplomacy approach from Lenczowski and John W. McDonald's multitrack diplomacy concept approach. This research focuses on the analysis of Korea Corner as an actor of cultural diplomacy and a means of promoting South Korean Culture to the Indonesian people and especially to National University students. The results of the study show that the role of the Korea Corner is a media or instrument of South Korean cultural diplomacy in Indonesia, which has carried out several strategies as follows 1) Use of Artworks as material for promoting South Korean culture 2) Exhibitions that display culture, arts, community customs 3) Exchange in the field of Education 4) Dissemination of related cultural literature 5) academic sponsorship, visits to universities 6) Language Teaching 7) Film Broadcasting and Prize Giving as a form of appreciation and respect.
