Abstract

Learning based on the material has a weakness where students only master the material's content and cannot
lead to achieving competence. The characteristic of competency-based learning is its focus on the level of
mastery. The solution to the problem is to apply thematics in the learning process. The answer is strengthened
by using problem-based thematic learning, thus spurring students to be more active in e-learning. This
research aims to see the effect of problem-based connected model learning on the achievement of student
competence through e-learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental, using a pretest & post-test control
group design. The data collected are knowledge, affective, and skills. The study was conducted at the
University of Muhammadiyah Malang on learning strategies. The data collection technique was with pretestposttest, task assessment rubric, and practical observation. The research instrument used post-test pretest
questions, rubric sheets to assess student assignments, and attitude/affective journals. Data analysis for
knowledge was carried out with ANOVA, while ANOVA was used for effective and skill data. The results
showed that e-learning learning activities through thematic problem-based related models could improve
students' knowledge and skills.
