Abstract
The presence of children with special needs is a gift and a challenge for fathers. This challenge requires children's father to have special abilities, one of which is compassion. One factor that can give rise to self compassion is family support. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self compassion in fathers who have special needs children. This study uses a quantitative correlational method with accidental sampling technique as the sampling technique. The study was conducted with a total sample of 111 fathers who have special needs children. The research instruments used in this study are the Skala Welas Diri (SWD) and Dukungan Keluarga instrument. Based on the results of the pearson product moment correlation test analysis, it was found that there is a positive relationship between family support and self compassion in fathers who have special needs children with a value (r = 0.658 and sig = 0.001 < 0.05). This means that the higher the family Support, the higher the self compassion in fathers who have special needs children.
