Abstract
The background of this research is that according to convention number 189 the ILO
(International Labor Organization) will expand the reach of protection for millions of workers,
especially women and children whose basic rights are not guaranteed. in the countries that ratify it.
This convention is the first global standard for 52.6 million domestic workers worldwide. Through
this convention, the ILO affirms domestic workers as non-help workers. The problem formulation
of this research is what underlies LPKP to carry out a program to empower domestic workers
(PRT), then how to implement a community-based PRT school program towards the welfare of
domestic workers in Kucur Village. The purpose of this study was to find out how the results of the
implementation of the community-based domestic worker school program in Kucur Village. The
method used in this study was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Here the researcher described
how the background of the community-based domestic worker school program was. , interview
techniques, and documentation techniques. Then the data obtained in the field is analyzed in three
ways, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study
succeeded in improving the welfare of domestic workers, increasing domestic workers' knowledge
in the fields of housekeeping, laundry, and family cooking. In addition, domestic workers also get
support from the government through Malang Regent Regulation No. 4 of 2018 concerning the
competence of domestic workers, and get support from the Kucur Village government through
community empowerment programs.
