Abstract

Background: The psychological effects of pulmonary tuberculosis include increased patient emotions, confusion, regret, disappointment, and stress.Indonesia is the second country with the highest number of TB patients worldwide after India. The WHO states that the death rate from TB worldwide is very high, reaching 1.4 million in 2019. While this number has decreased, it still falls short of the 2020 AND TB Strategy target. Methods: This research design uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach. Qualitative research is research that utilizes semi-structured interviews to understand a person's attitudes, views, feelings, and behavior of an individual or group of people.Results In this result, four are obtained, namely 1.The strategy of taking medicine 2.The strategy of compliance in treatment control 3.The strategy of fulfilling nutritional needs 4.Providing back rub therapy. Conclusion: families take care of patients with TB because they experience coughing up blood and shortness of breath. Therefore, families help in caring for family members with TB because their role is very important in providing nursing care because patients not only need family support but also psychological support during the recovery period. to provide education so that patients stop smoking and stop consuming alcoholic beverages for that patients are recommended to consume nutritious food and take medicine regularly and also regular sleep patterns.
