Abstract

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa Korth.) is a native plants of Putusibau, West Kalimantan, with lots of benefits as herbal medicine, including poultices on wounds, fever medication, relieving muscle pain, reducing appetite, and treating diarrhea. The compounds present in kratom are alkaloids, triterpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins, monoterpenoids and secoiroidoids. The content of secondary metabolite compounds in each natural material is believed to have certain bioactivities that are beneficial to humans, this study focuses on dominant compounds other than mitragynine compounds in kratom leaves. This research is located at Limited Company. Mazano Daya Rekayasa, which objectives to determine the results of extractive methanol solution of kratom leaves (Mitragyna speciosa Korth.) especially on other compounds in kratom and to identify phytochemical extractive methanol solution of kratom leaves (Mitragyna speciosa Korth.). Data taken in this study include yield, total alkaloid test, and GC-MS test. Yield result of kratom leaf methanol extract was 20.0%. The results of the total alkaloid test of kratom leaf methanol extract before fraction and after fraction were significantly different (p = 0,028). The results of phytochemical identification of methanol solvent in kratom leaf extract (Mitragyna speciosa Korth.) produced compounds of steroid, terpenoid, and fatty acid groups. Based on GC-MS, the dominant compounds are predicted to be Hexcadecanoic acid (palmitic acid), Methyl-11,14,17-Eicosatrienoate (unsaturated fatty acid), and Alpha-Guaiene (terpenoid).
