Abstract
BACKGROUND : The mechanism of ineffective breathing patterns in pulmonary TB occurs due to infection with the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis bacteria, where the bacteria enter the lungs, specifically attacking the bronchi and alveoli. If the primary defense in the lungs is inadequate, there is a high possibility of infection and an inflammatory reaction appearing. (inflammation). Excessive secretions that are difficult to expel can cause airway obstruction and ventilation problems.
METHODE: Karya Ilmiah Akhir Ners using qualitative preparation with a study or case description approach. This research follows the scientific method of nursing process principles including the process of assessment, data analysis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Data collection in research uses interview and observation methods.
RESULT : Providing nursing care for 4 days, the author focused on overcoming the problem of ineffective breathing patterns. The nursing interventions provided are supporting interventions using pursed-lip breathing techniques and collaborative interventions according to SIKI.
DISCUSSION : Pursed-lip breathing intervention is considered to be able to increase oxygenation, increase lung volume, increase lung capacity and expansion power, and expand collapsed lungs. So that complaints of shortness of breath in TB patients with pneumothorax can be reduced.
