Abstract
Background : Antenatal Care is care provided to pregnant women to improve and maintain optimal maternal and fetal health during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Lack of optimal care during ANC visits is one indicator of poor quality of care. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence antenatal care examinations in pregnant women.
Method : This cross-section study uses 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data to analyze variables related to population and demographic factors. The sample size was 14,771 and the study focused on demographic characteristics and socioeconomic factors. This research uses 3 statistical analyzes: univariate, bivariate, multivariate. Univariate analysis uses descriptive statistical tests, bivariate analysis uses the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis uses the logistic regression test. This research uses SPSS version 25
Results : Based on the results of the logistic regression test, it shows that the type of residence factor (OR = 1.712; 95%Cl = 0.471-0.567; Sig = 0.000) is the most dominant factor in influencing antenatal care examinations in Indonesia.
Conclusion : Factors that influence antenatal care examination are marital status, education level, residence, wealth index, respondent work, distance to health facilities, province and television media. There are two factors that have no relationship with antenatal care examination, namely age and head of household.
Suggestion : This study seeks to improve education and other factors to encourage comprehensive antenatal care and improve child and maternal health outcomes. Antenatal care nurses have provided solutions for mothers during pregnancy, namely nurses carry out health promotion, screening, diagnosis, early prevention and make home visits to mothers who do not undergo antenatal care examinations.
